Next Steps for School Meals Summit
It’s an exciting time for school food in Newfoundland and Labrador! Our provincial government announced school meal funding for all Pre-K to Grade 9 students. The federal government also announced a national school food policy and funding in their 2024 budget.
It’s time to celebrate and plan a path forward.
With that in mind, we are excited to invite you to the Next Steps for School Meals Summit!
Summit Details
This Summit will focus on informing the roll-out of expanded school meals services in N.L. Join us for a day of updates, speakers, lively discussions, and opportunities to build relationships in the sector. This event is part of our Next Steps in School Meals project.
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: St. John’s Community Market, 245 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL (map)
Parking: Public parking is available in front of the Market Building and the Terra Nova Road lot (Lot 3). There is also ample street-side parking in the immediate neighbourhood. Parking details are on the SJCM website.
Who Can Attend: We welcome all of our provincial school food partners, our national partners, and anyone interested in the future of school food in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Space is limited. We encourage you to register early. Let us know ASAP if you registered but cannot attend.
Cost: Free to attend.
Online Access: This is an in-person event. Some presentations/panel discussions may be recorded and shared on Food First NL’s website and social media channels afterward. Attend in person if you want to participate fully.
Pre-registration is required. Multiple people are welcome to attend from one organization/group. To register, please fill out the form below for each attendee. Registration deadline: May 16th.
