Try something new in your stir-fry

Note: This is the third post from RCR Committee member Faeterri Silver.

I love stir-fries. It is a great way for me to get my vegetables.  For a quick meal I will get frozen cut vegetables and cook with a little soy sauce and serve with rice. But I really do prefer fresh vegetables. Usually I use broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, celery, carrots, and onions.  Sometimes I will buy bok choy, which is an Asian cabbage, and cut the leaves and stems separately and add them in also.

Now in my garden I am growing some other easy to grow members of the cabbage (brassica) family.  I can add for a slightly spicy flavour, for texture or colour mustards greens, tatsoi, mizuna, kotmasuna, or yukina.  These are all easy to grow in our climate.

I like to experiment and I encourage you to also.
